17.03.2021

Did you hear about the Data box and how it can simplify communication with the Czech authorities? If not, then we have a special edition for you! We have prepared a series of articles where you will learn everything you need to know about the Data box!

Who can set up the Data box?

For some entities, the data box is set up automatically. If the Data box was not set up automatically, it can be set up for an individual person, business person and legal entity in case they are not registered in Commercial Register or set up by law.

How to set up the Data box?

If the Data box was not set up automatically, you can set up your Data box according to a request. There are three possibilities how to do it:

– Personally (Post / Czech point)

To set up a data box, you need to present your proof of identity, such as: ID card, passport, residence permit, visa sticker or residence sticker. Most requests are processed immediately and you receive a confirmation of the establishment of a data box and you can log in to your newly established data box.

– Writing application

It is necessary to fill in the application for the establishment of a data box using the appropriate form, which can be found here. The completed application must be printed out and the signature must be officially verified. Then everything should be sent to the Ministry of the Interior – address hereIf the application is completed correctly and completely, the data box will probably be set up within three days.

– Online via eidentita.cz

First of all, it is necessary to log in to the eidentita.cz portal, where after entering the online application, the data box will be set up and made available to you immediately. The applicant has already secured access to the data box via the eidentita.cz portal, the access data Name / Password are issued only at his explicit request and then they are displayed immediately, directly on the screen.

Can you get represented in submission of an application for the establishment of a data box?

Yes you can get represented based on Power of Attorney, where your signature must be officially verified.

How much does it cost to set up a data box and then it’s operation?

The data box is set up free of charge. Sending data messages to Czech authorities or all communication with the Czech authorities is for free. If you want to send data messages to other entities, it is currently (with regard to the current corona situation) also free of charge, otherwise for a small fee. If you want to have all communication stored in the data box, you can set up a data safe for a small fee.

    Summary:

The data box enables the sending of letters to the Czech authorities in electronic form. Thanks to the data box, communication with the Czech authorities is more efficient, faster, more reliable, and free of charge. This will relieve you of the worry of letters from the authorities because you will have everything in electronic form and everything together in one place.
